‘Aids Day’ Walk and Advocacy meeting for Young and Vulnerable Key Populations and Vulnerable Youth Interventions organised by STD Sexual Transmitted Disease Clinic (STD) / Regional Director of Health Services (RDHS) Kalmunai,was held in Kalmunai, with the mass participations of Medial Professionals, Medical Officers of Health, Public Health Inspectors and polic makers on Monday (2), under the patronage of Regional Director of Health Services Dr. S.R. Issadeen.
The participants of the ‘Aids Day’ Walk, carrying the slogans “Take the rights path”, commenced from Kalmunai RDHS Office premises up to the Kalmunai roundabout, from where the large number of people from all walks of life witnessed this ‘Aids Day’ Walk.
Regional Director of Health Services Dr. S.R. Issadeen delivered the presidential address.
Medical Officer in Charge STD Clinic Dr. I.L. Jalaldeen, who played a major role in organising the Advocacy meeting, after his welcome address, gave a comprehensive address on young Key Populations and Vulnerable Youth Interventions. He also clearly detailed the vision, mission and goal of the meeting.
He, in his comprehensive address on the identified five objectives for achieving this goal said, prevent new infection of HIV/STI among key populations. Providing universal access to HIV/STI diagnosis and treatment are and supports services for those infected and effected by HIV/STI, strengthen strategic information system and knowledge management for an evidence-based response, strengthen health system at different levels and to ensure on effective multi-sector for HIV/AIDS/STI response, provide s supportive environment and care service for all.
Dr. MAM. Hilmy addressed Ethical issues in managing STI patients and key populations.
