An oil leak from a ship in the Hambantota port

An oil leak has occurred while supplying fuel to a merchant ship at the Hambantota International Port.

The incident took place while an oil tanker was refueling the ship and the Marine Environment Protection Authority has been informed about the incident.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Hambantota International Port Services Company stated that the operation to remove the oil stain will be completed within the next few days.
