Ashok Peiris, Chairman Lanka Mineral Sands

A highly respected Civil Service servant for over 35 years, Ashok Peiris has been appointed as the Chairman of Lanka Mineral Sands Ltd, by Minister of Industry and entrepreneurship development Sunil Handunnetti.

An honors graduate of the Pedanedinya University engineering faculty, he was also the competent authority of the institution during 2015 and 2016. He has also served as the President of the Sri Lanka Administrative Services Association.

After the appointment he said that he would encourage and expand mining activities in a more transparent manner and turn around the institution to be one of the highest foreign exchange earners in the country.
