ASPI hits all time high

The All Share Price Index (ASPI) of the Colombo Stock Exchange hit an all-time high closing high of 13,512, gaining 172 points marking a 1.29% increase from the previous day amidst the increased participation from retail and institutional investors.

The previous record was achieved on January 19,2022. Amidst multiple off-board transactions, the turnover surged past Rs.5.2Bn, marking a 48.8% increase from the monthly average.

Additionally, specific stocks in the Banking sector and Diversified Financials sector continued to attract investor interest throughout the day.

After a period of dull performance, the Banking sector experienced a significant rise yesterday.
