Basil’s name to the Election Commission

The Sri Lanka People’s Front (SLPP) has informed the Elections Commission today to nominate former Minister Basil Rajapaksa to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Jayantha Ketagoda.

Accordingly, Basil Rajapaksa is scheduled to be sworn in as a Member of Parliament on the 8th, says the General Secretary of the Sri Lanka People’s Front MP Sagara Kariyawasam.

The strike is over due to a written promise made by the Minister of Health.
