Admission fees for the country’s botanical gardens will be increased from July 1. The related Gazette notification has been issued by Tourism and Lands Minister Harin Fernando.
According to the Gazette, local visitors, residents of houses within the parks, Government employees entering the parks on official duty and other persons granted free entry by the Director General.
Accordingly, the admission fee for local adults and children above 12 is Rs.200 per person and for children under 12 the admission fee is Rs.30.
According to the gazette, admission to botanical gardens is Rs.3,000 per person for foreign adults and children above 12 years, and Rs.1,500 for foreign children below 12 years.
The admission fee for foreign school students and university students (after submission of satisfactory evidence to the curator of the Botanical Gardens) is Rs.2,000.
