Cabinet approves establishment of nine units for video recording of child abuse evidence

Cabinet approval has been granted to set up nine video recording units at the provincial level to testify against abused children.

Evidence recording using this method is currently only available in Colombo.

This will enable a child who has been subjected to various abuses to face various problems while giving evidence in public and this will enable the evidence to be recorded and videotaped.
