Ceylon Teachers Union complains to UN Human Rights Commission.

Representatives of the Sri Lanka Teachers’ Union have filed a petition with the United Nations Human Rights Commission (UNHRC) seeking to intervene in the government’s crackdown on illegal detention of union leaders and student activists.

The petition was handed over to the United Nations office in Sri Lanka by representatives of the Ceylon Teachers Union this afternoon (12).
