Demoralised Sri Lanka seek consolation win against Bangladesh

Sri Lanka team led by Kusal Mendis which suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of India will be seeking consolation win against when they confront Bangladesh in their World Cup match at the Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium in Delhi. This venue has been a happy hunting ground for Sri Lanka where they scored heavily to chase against South Africa ‘ s 428 and finally lost to South Africa after making 326. Skipper Kusal Mendis was in good touch with the bat hitting quick 77 in Delhi first game and he has to take full responsibility once again today. After received Captaincy Kusal Mendis could not play a big innings which is a big worry for Sri Lanka. He has failed to impress after being appointed captain.

Sri Lanka has not made big changes against Bangladesh today.Their bowling department once again has to go with paceman Dilshan Madushanka the most successful bowler who has taken 18 wickets only secund to Australian spinner Adam Zampa who took highest wickets of 19.The experienced Dushmantha Chameera was not up to expectations last two matches and he should give much more assistance to young Madushanka

Dilshan Madushanka said the support from other end always give much boost to him and the paceman Kasun Rajitha and Dushmantha Chameera have to realise this .Angelo Mathews the third seamer and spinners have rest of the duty while big worry about experience mystery spinner Maheesh Theekshana ‘ s form.He has more experience about playing IPL but he couldn’t reach his full potential and this is big issue for Sri Lanka.

Dunith Wellalage may come in place of Dushan Hementha while Dhananjaya de Silva once again couldn’t find his place .The failure of opener Kusal Janith Perera and Dimuth Karunaratne is a big issue but team management has not finalised the playing XI.

Meanwhile Sri Lanka team is concerned about finishing among the first eight, as they don’t have chance to enter the semi finals but to qualify for the Champions Trophy.

Bangladesh team led by Shakib Al Hasan having good training last two days despite of Air Pollution of Delhi City ready to face Sri Lanka challenge. Bangladesh are not in good position having only one win against Afghanistan they could record win and lost their momentum but they wan to forget everything and get a win against Sri Lanka.

Skipper Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, Litton Das, Mahamadulla are the key players who are in form while head coach Chandika Hathurusinghe and spin specialist coach Rangana Herath the former Sri Lanka leggie are plus point to Bangladesh as both of them know about the Sri Lanka team and Chris Silverwood the Sri Lanka head coach has to make good plan to beat Bangladesh today. Rangana Herath said world cup is special to all teams and they all tried to do their best and as a coach we can’t do everything and players have a big responsibility to perform in the middle. Bangladesh presently are in ninth place while Sri Lanka is seventh and both of them tried to go up with victories in the next two matches.

Meanwhile Air Pollution of Delhi City is a concern while both teams missed their training sessions on Saturday and did their final training sessions yesterday.
