Diluk Dabarera the swimmer turned athlete

Seventeen year old School Athletic Champion and Silver Medalist at the John Tarbet Meet Christian Diluk Dabarera has brought honour and immense glory to his two schools Jennings International School Wennappuwa and Gateway International School Negombo with his deeds in the field of Athletics and Swimming.

Christian who hails from Wennappuwa and was bom 12 th October 2006 and in 2010 he was admitted to Jennings International School and when he was in Grade Four he commenced Swimming under M.Antony and he took part at the Inter House Swimming meets and won places in Free Style, Butter Fly and Breast Stroke. He took part at the ages of under 14 and 16.

In addition he did Athletics under .Prasanna his events are Shot Putt, Discus Throw and Javelin and his first attempt was at the Zonal Meet under 13 and won places. As he showed prominence in Athletics to enhance his career his Parents Christo Dabarera and Ridma Femando drafted their son to Gateway College Negombo in 2019 and there too he came under. Prasanna and Janaka Perera. At the School Inter House Sports Meets he swept the board in his events easily and at the 2020 Provincial Meet he came second and at the zonal he came first in Discus throw and at the school sports meet in 2023 he won the Javelin and Discus easily and came second in Putt Shot and at the Inter International Meet 2022 he won a Silver for Discus Throw and at the 2022 Junior Nationals he won a Bronze in Discus throw and at the 2023 Western Provincial Meet he won a Gold and at the All Island 2023 Meet he won another Gold for Discus Throw and at the recently held 52 nd John Tarbet Meet he won a Silver for under 17 Discus throw Event.
