Dulshan spins Jaffna to victory

The 23-year-old Leg spinner Shashika Dulshan had  fine figures of 6 for 99 as Jaffna recorded 164 run win over Kandy in their National Super League ( NSL) four day cricket fixture played at Mahinda Rajapaksa International cricket stadium yesterday.

Kandy had to get 394 runs winning target  and former Royal skipper Ahan Wickrmasinghe was the only successful batsman with an unbeaten 116 in 86 balls with 11 fours and 5 sixes while Shashika  Dulshan former  St Servatius Matara  and Ragama CC spinner did most of the damage to contain Kandy team and Ravindu Fernando made a good supporting role to pick 3 for 77.

Meanwhile the match between Dambulla and Colombo ended in a draw at Pallekele International cricket stadium and Dambulla who piled up 530 runs earned first innings points.

Sonal Dinusha the former Mahanama batsman made a superb unbeaten 100 in 160 balls with 11 fours  which was the highlight yesterday.Leg spinner Prabath Jayasuriya and paceman Kasun Rajitha took 3 wickets each
