The first session of the Sri Lanka – Saudi Joint Commission was held on May 21 and22 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The Sri Lanka delegation was led by State Minister of Foreign Affairs Tharaka Balasuriya.
During discussions 63 areas were identified for cooperation.
“This will constitute a roadmap for further enhancement of our relations with the Kingdom,” said State Minister Balasuriya.
Also earlier a Memorandum of Understanding on Political Consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Sri Lanka and Saudi Arabia was signed in Riyadh by State Minister Balasuriya and Deputy Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia Waleed Al Khereiji.
