From Monday, all unions are preparing for a self-imposed closure.

If the government does not take action to close the country by next Friday, the trade union representatives say that from next Monday all the trade unions in the public and private sectors will unite and take the necessary steps to close the country.

The National Organizer of the National Trade Union Center Wasantha Samarasinghe stated that the government should take action to close down the country scientifically and take action in this regard by this Friday.

Otherwise, Wasantha Samarasinghe further stated that the self-governing country will be shut down to provide the necessary facilities to the health staff by uniting the trade unions in the public sector, private sector, estates, and semi-public sector.
