The National People’s Power (NPP) Executive Member and Kandy District leader K.D. Lalkantha said that former MP Udaya Gammanpila, who worked to incite racism and religious division in the past, has now become a politically bankrupt person and now in an attempt to boost his popularity during the General Election, he has started talking about the Presidential Commission reports related to the Easter Sunday attacks.

Lalkantha also said that if he had these reports, as a responsible politician, he should have handed them over to the investigation teams.

Lalkantha made these remarks while speaking to the media in Kandy.

He further said, “Today no one takes Udaya Gammanpila’s challenges seriously as he is a politician rejected by the people.”

“The people now know very well the actions of these people who worked for one period to promote racism, another period of extremism, and again to propagate religious division. Whether these people struggle or shout or not, they know that President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and the new Government will do justice to the victims of the Easter attacks. The religious institutions that represent them and the society that represents the victims have that faith,” the NPP Executive Member said.
