In Remembrance of Nanda Pandithasekera

0 4

With the passing of the late Nanda Pandithasekera, we have lost a remarkable Rahulian and a dedicated teacher. From 1956 to 1963, he served as the District Scout Master for the Matara and Hambantota districts while teaching at Rahula College, Matara, where he was a longstanding and respected member of the faculty.

During his tenure, Pandithasekera brought honor and dignity to Rahula, his beloved alma mater. As a devoted teacher, he imparted a wealth of knowledge to thousands of students, many of whom have gone on to occupy prominent positions in society today.

As our Scout Master, he instilled in us the values of discipline, punctuality, dedication, and honesty—principles that continue to guide us in life.

Pandithasekera was a fine product of the late D. J. Kumarage, the distinguished former principal of Rahula and its “Architect.” His book, Reminiscence of Rahula, stands as an exemplary contribution to the history of the school and an inspiration to all Rahulians.

Simplicity and humility were the hallmarks of his life. As a devout Buddhist, he lived in accordance with the teachings of the Buddha, embodying them to the fullest.

May blessings be upon his departed soul.
