Jetstar Asia, a majority Singapore held and based company, launched its direct flights between Singapore and Colombo yesterday, as the Singapore carrier becomes the only low cost-airline to operate the route. Jetstar has partnered with Hayleys Advantis from Sri Lanka as the General Sales Agent.
Shano Sabar, Deputy Managing Director of the Hayleys Advantis said, “The new cruise provided by Jetstar will offer enhanced access to markets across its network through seamless cargo service facilitating our exporters to reach customers more efficiently and reliably opening up new trade opportunities for Sri Lanka businesses and for an economic growth across the key sectors.”
Jetstar Asia will operate the route five times weekly with a choice of evening or morning departures. On Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, flight 3K331 departs Singapore at 09:00 PM and arrives in Colombo at 10:30 PM, with the return service departing Sri Lanka at 11:30 PM and arriving the following day at 06:15 AM.
On Thursday and Sunday, flight 3K333 departs Singapore at 08:55 AM and arrives in Colombo at 10:25 AM, departing at 11:25 AM and arriving at Singapore Changi at 06:00 PM. The new service will offer more than 90,000 low-fare seats each year, giving Singaporeans and travelers from across the region another exciting travel destination while bringing thousands of tourists and business travelers to the Lion City.
