Large gathering of monks and public present at Ven. Vineetha Thera’s last rites

Chief incumbent of the Naranwala Sri Sumanakeerthi Pirivena Ven. Uruwala Vineetha Thera passed away recently.

The last rites of the Thera took place last Saturday (10) at the Delgoda public stadium.

Mahanayake Thera of the Ramanna Nikaya, Most Ven. Makulewe Wimala Thera said that the late Vineetha Thera did yeomen service to the Buddha sasana and the society, and that his passing away is a huge loss to the Buddha sasana and the country.

The Mahanayake Thera added that Ven Vineetha Thera spearheaded the organization of the Upasmpada Ceremony where 500 Theras were ordained for the first time in the history of Ramanna Nikaya.

Ven. Aralaganwila Piyathissa Thera too spoke on the occasion.

Ven. Ganthune Assaji Thera and Ven. Welamitiyawe Gnanarathana Thera also delivered anusasanas.

Transport State Minister Lasantha Alagiyawanna, Parliamentarian Sahan Pradeep and a large gathering of monks and public were present.
