The first charter flight of a series of charter flight operations of Lot Polish Airlines arrived at BIA yesterday operating from the Czech Republic, with 252 tourists.
The charter flight operations will be operated until t March 26, 2024. These charter flights are organized in collaboration with Cedok of the Czech Republic, Sri Lanka Tourism and Jetwing Travels.
Hayleys aviation is the GSA for Lot Polish Airlines. The first flight was welcomed with a water salute, while the passengers were entertained with a traditional welcome dance performance and Ceylon Tea gifts for each tourist.
Further, the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau will commence a joint promotional campaign with Cedox parallel to the charter flight arrivals from the Czech Republic, with the support of Airport and Aviation Services Sri Lanka Limited, Jetwing Travels and Hayleys Aviation in order to enhance the destination awareness among Eastern Europe markets. Dr. Sumith de Silva, Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications, AASL, Charith Nalaka, Deputy General Manager, Jetwing Travels, Jagath Perera and Inoka Gayathri (Market Officers) from Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau and Sasidharan Kumarasamy, Assistant Manager, Hayleys Aviation attended the soft inauguration ceremony at BIA.
