Minister of State Ajith Nivard Cabraal – “Sri Lanka will receive US $ 2650 million in foreign exchange reserves in the future”.
Ajith Nivard Cabraal, Minister of Finance and Capital Markets and Public Enterprise Reforms states that Sri Lanka expects close to US $ 2,650 million in the next three months.
The foreign exchange will include US $ 400 million from the Central Bank of India, US $ 250 million from Bangladesh, US $ 300 million from the China Development Bank, and US $ 800 million from the International Monetary Fund.
The Minister of State further stated that the current foreign exchange reserve balance in the country after the payment of the US $ 1 billion loan installment on July 27 is around US $ 3 billion and the existing reserves will exceed US $ 7 billion in the next few months.
