President pardons for Mr. Duminda Silva and many other prisoners

 

High-level sources declared yesterday (23 June 2021) that many prisoners who have been imprisoned now given the death penalty are to provide pardon today (24 June 2021) under the presidential amnesty pardon for the sake of Poson full moon day.

Accordingly, 93 prisoners who were imprisoned have been released under a presidential pardon on the occasion of Poson Poya. It is reported that all of them have been released and have been placed under house quarantine after PCR investigations.

Accordingly, Mr. Duminda Silva who was imprisoned has also been released with those 93 prisoners who were released today, said the Media Spokesman of the Prisons Department, Mr. Chandana Silva.
