In a thrilling finale at the Royal Colombo Golf Club, young golf talents Jevahn Sathasivam and Kaya Daluwatte emerged as the champions in the Boys and Girls Gold segments, respectively, at the recently concluded Sri Lanka Junior Open Golf Championship 2023.
The tournament, organized by Sri Lanka Golf and sponsored by Prima Sunrise for the 15th consecutive year, saw over 100 junior golfers, including participants from India, showcasing their skills in a highly competitive environment.
Adithya Weerasinghe emerged victorious in the Boys Silver division with a score of 226, followed by Keshav Algama in the second position with 233, and Kaiyan Johnpillai in the third position with a score of 239.
In the Girls Silver segment, Keya Abhayaratne claimed the top spot with an outstanding score of 291. Araradhi Samararatne secured the second position with a score of 346, and Sithara Lawrence took the third position with a score of 375.
Lavidu Premarathne clinched the Bronze Medal in the Boys division with a score of 184, followed by Udeera Bandara in the second position with 202, and Yehansa Senanayake in the third position with a score of 207.
In the Bronze division for Girls, Bhavika Unni from India emerged as the champion with a score of 185. Avighna Unni secured the second position with a score of 186, and Kaitlyn Norton claimed the third spot with a score of 209.
The Copper division for Boys saw Revaan Amarasinghe asserting his dominance with an impressive score of 112, followed by Vivian Singh from India in the second position with a score of 114, and Danik Daluwatte securing the third position with a score of 128. In the Girls event, Aasitha Rao of India clinched the first position with a score of 123, followed by Vihara Herath in the second position with 143, and Aashna Amogha from India claiming the third spot with a score of 150.
