Proposals from 21 parties to reform election and election rules

The proposals have been received from 21 political parties recognized by the Parliamentary Select Committee.

This Select Committee has been appointed to overhaul the laws of the Elections and Elections Structure. This select committee is chaired by the Leader of the House and Minister of External Affairs Dinesh Gunawardena.

In addition, 155 suggestions and comments have been received from the public and civil society.

The time given to submit ideas and proposals to this Parliamentary Select Committee expired on the 15th of July.
