Request to the Ministry of Health to explore the possibility of giving Pfizer and Moderna vaccines to pregnant mothers

Thirteen pregnant mothers have died due to the Covid-19 virus infection.

Also, nearly 2,500 mothers have become infected with Covid at present, says Dr. Chitramali de Silva, Director Specialist of the Family Health Bureau.

However, currently, only 175 mothers are hospitalized.

Meanwhile, the Family Health Bureau has requested the Ministry of Health to look into the possibility of administering Pfizer and Moderna vaccines to pregnant mothers.

Specialist Dr. Chitramali de Silva further stated that at present only cyanoform vaccine is being given to pregnant mothers.
