Sagara Kariyawasam – “There will be no announcement that fuel prices will be reduced when Basil arrives”

The General Secretary of the Sri Lanka People’s Front Attorney-at-Law Sagara Kariyawasam states that no statement was made that fuel prices would be reduced after Basil Rajapaksa was given the post of Minister of Finance.

Speaking at a media briefing held at the party headquarters yesterday (13) he stated that as a responsible party such a statement would never be made.

He further stated that the letter issued by Minister Gammanpila regarding his appointment to a situation where the government has no other option but to increase fuel prices does not mention such a thing.
