American small business owners are partnering with Sri Lankan entrepreneurs through a five-week programme to promote small business development in both our countries, courtesy of the Professional Fellows Programme on Economic Empowerment of the State Department’s Educational and Cultural Affairs. Deputy Chief of Mission Douglas Sonnek heard how the programme fosters valuable skills enhancement and cross-cultural connections.
It has also helped past fellows elevate businesses – from skincare lines to artisanal ice cream shops – showcasing the programme’s benefit to small business entrepreneurs. These American business leaders are in Sri Lanka, reconnecting with the Fellows they hosted last year in the US.
Public Affairs Officer of the Embassy Heidi Hattenbach is also in the picture.
