Speaker rejects Ranil’s amendment to no-confidence motion

Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena today informed Parliament that the amendment tabled by UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe yesterday (19) to the no-confidence motion filed by the Samagi Jana Balawega against Minister Udaya Gammanpila could not be accepted.

Introducing his motion yesterday, Parliamentarian Ranil Wickremesinghe said that the relevant no-confidence motion should be considered as a motion brought against the entire cabinet of the government.
