Specialist Dr. Padma Gunarathna – If we act carelessly, what happened to India will happen to us too

The health sector points out that with the identification of the Delta variety, there is a risk of it spreading in the country.

According to Dr. Padma Gunarathna, Chairperson of the Sri Lanka Medical Association, about 5 out of every 100 people infected with the disease will develop the disease within another two weeks. She points out that there is a tendency for about two percent to die in another two weeks.

Dr. Padma Gunarathna, further stated that what happened to India could happen to Sri Lanka if it behaves carelessly.
