Sri Lanka Golf has announced that eleven top-seeded golfers will compete in two trial rounds on Monday and Tuesday, January 8 and 9, at the Royal Colombo Golf Club.

The purpose of these trials is to select two players to represent Sri Lanka in the upcoming 37th Bangladesh Amateur Golf Championship, scheduled to take place from January 31 to February 3 at the Kurmitola Golf Club in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

To be considered for selection, players must achieve a gross score of three over par or less on each trial day, emphasized Sri Lanka Golf. The criteria aim to ensure that only top-performing golfers secure a place in the championship.

Chilatha Pushpika, who performed exceptionally well, securing the 11th position in both tournaments during the recent two Malaysian tours, is among the contenders.

The selection process will take into account scores from Sri Lanka Golf tournaments in the past two months and overseas tournaments in the past four months. This comprehensive evaluation aims to choose the two players who will best represent Sri Lanka on the international golfing stage.

The eleven players participating in the trials are Junior Open winner Jevahn Sathasivam, K Danushan, Chanaka Perera, Chalitha Pushpika, Uchitha Ranasinghe, Kvahn Tejwani, Yannik Kumara, Roshana Prasad, Janeesh Weerasinghe, Thenuk Sathnidu, and Adithya Weerasinghe.

Notably, leading young golfer and November National Ranking Tournament winner Reshan Algama opted not to enter the trials due to academic commitments, as confirmed by Sri Lanka Golf.
