Stamp depicting history of Sita Amman Temple

Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena issued a special stamp depicting the history of the Sita Amman Temple, together with a first day cover and laid the foundation stone for an International Meditation Centre at the Sita Amman Temple at Sita Eliya in Nuwara Eliya yesterday (23). Ven Nuwaraeliyè Chandima Thera, Indian High Commissioner Gopal Baglay, Sita Amman Temple Committee President V. Ramakrishnan, MPs C.B. Ratnayake and Yadamini Gunawardena, Delhi Rotary Club President Pradeep Jain and a large gathering of foreign and local devotees were also present.
