Joseph Stalin, General Secretary of the Ceylon Teachers Union says that he will embark on a massive trade union action from the 22nd of this month and that goes beyond leaving online teaching. He further stated that it will be decided after the discussion to be held on the 20th.
Meanwhile, the President of the All Ceylon United Teachers Union Ven. Yalwala Pannasekerh monk stated that the strike will continue until the issue of teacher salary anomalies is resolved and the Kotelawala Act is repealed.
Accordingly, a massive agitation will be held in Colombo on July 22 with the participation of all teachers and principals in the country, they added.
