Tennakoon rejects Minister’s claim

Former Governor Rajith Keerthi Tennakoon yesterday denied claims made by Plantations and Community Infrastructure Minister Samantha Vidyaratne that he had acquired 18 acres belonging to the Bogaspelessa Forest Reserve using forged documents.

Issuing a statement in response to the claims made by the Minister,Tennakoon said he would be taking legal action against the Minister for defaming him.

He also denied forging any documents. He said that he has taken serious efforts since 2017 to protect the Bogaspelessa Forest Reserve.He added that action should be taken by the Minister if illegal occupants have encroached the lands belonging to the Forest Reserve.
