The case against Express Pearl has been adjourned until August 6

The case pertaining to the complaint lodged regarding the burning of the Express Pearl ship was taken up in the Colombo High Court yesterday(15).

When the case was taken up, the Deputy Solicitor General had stated that he did not expect any orders from the court today regarding the investigations. Deputy Solicitor General Madhava Tennakoon who appeared for the Attorney General stated that further investigations are being carried out into the incident.

Accordingly, Colombo High Court Judge Damith Thotawatte ordered the case to be recalled on August 6.

Another 19 delta infections have been identified.
