The fine for polythene and lunch sheets will be increased to Rs 1 lakhs.

Penalties for manufacturing, distributing, and marketing polythene, lunch sheets have been increased since August 1.

The Ministry of Environment said in a statement that the previous fine was Rs. 10,000 and that the fine was increased to Rs 1 lakhs.
