The teachers’ unions say they will resort to severe trade union action if there is no solution from the cabinet.

Joseph Stalin, General Secretary of the Ceylon Teachers’ Union says that if the Cabinet that met yesterday (23) does not take appropriate action to resolve their salary issue, it hopes to take a strong trade union action in the future.

Accordingly, he further stated that the government is avoiding resolving the salary issues of teachers and principals.
