Trade minister – Sri Lanka has downgraded its credit rating to take the maximum limit on borrowing

Trade Minister Bandula Gunawardena states that the country is not in a position to provide relief for teachers’ salaries at a time when there is an epidemic in the world.

The Minister further stated that the only option available to the public, if they are unable to take loans, is to take loans, and at present, the credit rating agencies have downgraded the credit rating of Sri Lanka by obtaining loans up to the maximum limit of borrowing.
